Event Details

India is on the cusp of a major transformation in terms of economic growth and manufacturing, moving towards becoming the center of global development, technology, and has one of the most ambitious energy transition plans globally. India, standing as one of the world’s largest and most rapidly expanding economies, has pledged to reach net-zero emissions by 2070. India will raise its non-fossil energy capacity to 500 GW by 2030 while meeting 50 per cent of its energy demand through renewables. Also by 2030, India will reduce 1 billion tonnes of projected emissions and achieve a 45 percent reduction in carbon intensity over 2005 levels.

As one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, with the largest population, the challenge of achieving a “net zero” for India is formidable. In order to meet the rising aspirations of its young population, India must achieve and sustain a high rate of GDP growth for the next three decades. The intersection of economic growth, energy requirements, environmental consciousness, and technological innovation underscores the need for a comprehensive understanding of the sectors shaping the future and the event aims to provide a platform to achieve this goal.
